Twenty-three labour caravans were destroyed after a fire broke out in Merbeh, Fujairah, on Monday morning.
Emergency services ordered up to 225 workers to leave the site of 120 caravans after being alerted to the blaze at 7.35am.
Fujairah Civil Defence immediately dispatched firefighters and paramedics to the scene.
Brigadier General Ali Al Taniji, Director of the Department, said the team managed to control the fire and secure the area.
“After extinguishing the fire, the site was handed over to the competent authorities for investigations,” said Brig Gen Al Taniji.
Investigations are ongoing to find the cause. No injuries were reported.
Brig Gen Al Taniji urged companies and institutions to follow safety and prevention regulations to protect people and properties.
