ABU DHABI // Teachers will be trained in cybersecurity and digital technology as part of a first-of-its-kind programme offered by Abu Dhabi Education Council.

The training comes as part of larger efforts to promote awareness about cyber security among students in cycles 2 and 3, and is being offered with the National Electronic Security Authority.

About 200 Adec staff members are expected to participate in the programme, which prepares them to obtain the Cyber Communication Culture Certificate.

Adec said that the long-term plan involves attracting information technology teachers in all public and private schools, to promote an “electronic security culture” and protect children from internet-related risks.
