DUBAI // A driver took advantage of a recently divorced woman in need of money by taking her to an office in Al Quoz where his friend raped her and photographed her naked, the Dubai Criminal Court heard today.
Prosecutors said that MZ, a 26-year-old Pakistani, was asked for a loan by the 39-year-old Filipina MF, who was also described as his friend. She said she needed the money as she had recently divorced. The driver told her he could not loan her the money, but knew someone who could.
The driver then took the woman to the premises of a company in Al Quoz where his 28-year-old compatriot AS was waiting. AS then allegedly ripped off her clothes and raped her while she was shivering and crying. Following the act he took pictures of her naked with his mobile phone. The attack was said to have occurred on February 4.
Afterwards, the woman told a friend what had happened and both women reported the matter to police.
A police report said that the alleged rapist's mobile phone contained four pictures of the woman naked. In one of the pictures she was crying while in another she was holding her cloths in her hands and trying to hide her face.
AS denied a charge of rape, claiming she consented to having sex with him, but he confessed to taking pictures of a naked woman. MZ denied a charge of criminal complicity.
The case was adjourned to June 6.
