DUBAI // A driver who fell asleep at the wheel and crashed into a signboard has been fined Dh10,000 by the Traffic Court.
The 28-year-old Gulf national was driving in Al Badia last February when, due to exhaustion, he lost control of the vehicle and careered over a roundabout before crashing into the sign.
He fled the scene but was arrested shortly afterwards and charged with driving while exhausted, damaging property, fleeing the scene of an accident and failing to renew his vehicle's registration.
He confessed to all charges.
