Dubai is home to the Middle East's highest concentration of resident millionaires, at 72,500, and ranked as the 21st wealthiest city in the world, a report has found.
The city has recorded a 78 per cent growth in its millionaire population over the past 10 years, according to Henley and Partners, which tracks private wealth and investment migration trends worldwide, and global intelligence provider New World Wealth.
Dubai is home to 212 centi-millionaires (people with a net worth of $100 million or more in investable assets) and 15 billionaires, the research found.
The Henley and Partners report highlighted Abu Dhabi as the world's next big wealth hotspot, home to 22,700 millionaires. The report focuses on people with a net worth of $1 million or more.

Sudanese community says UAE has offered sanctuary from violence at home
The UAE has been described as a sanctuary by the Sudanese community whose homeland is engulfed by civil war.
More than 4,000 people attended a festival in Dubai on Sunday to celebrate Sudan's heritage and culture.
The country has been in chaos for more than a year due to the war between Sudan's army and the rival paramilitary Rapid Support Forces.
One Sudanese woman told The National the festival was a welcome opportunity to celebrate all that is good about her home nation.

UAE weather: Temperatures to drop this week as sandstorms approach
The UAE is braced for sandstorms and a drop in temperatures this week, as the unsettled weather persists.
The National Centre of Meteorology forecasts wind of up to 40kph on Wednesday and Thursday, rising to 45kph on Friday.
The powerful gusts could bring dust and sandstorms to parts of the Emirates.
The weather centre's online map predicts temperatures will drop significantly in Abu Dhabi, from a high of 41°C on Wednesday to 34°C on Friday.
