Makhete Diop topped Al Dhafra's scoring charts for the past two seasons and the tall Senegalese striker was again their hero, scoring twice in the 3-1 home win over Al Wasl this past Friday to boost their hopes of a top-six finish this season in the Arabian Gulf League.
Diop scored on either side of half time to consolidate Dhafra’s lead after his Brazilian teammate Jose Rogeiro had put them ahead in the ninth minute.
The two goals took the Senegalese’s tally to 15 goals from 18 league games this season as he continues to illustrate just how important he is to his employers.
