The day was another difficult one and was a typical Rally Sardinia special to go with the other hard days I have had on this event. During part of the day's stage we rode up in the mountains and went up around 1,200m and were riding in amongst the clouds and the wind felt like it was going around me at speeds that felt like 30km as we rode. It wasn't the most ideal conditions for rallying by any means, but I enjoyed the challenge of the situation I was in and was able to push hard when I could.

There was plenty of other things though to test me and everyone else in the rally. There were river crossings which were very difficult and almost impossible climbs to try and complete and all in all it was a very tough day. It was a make or break day on the rally in terms of trying to move up the order as there was a very tricky part to the stage around an Italian military base. Riding around in the tall grass and rugged bushes for around 50km was always going to be very challenging, but an opportunity to make up time if you did a good job.

It was a rewarding day though as I made up 15 places during the day so I am very pleased with how I did and am now 24th. The performance also keeps me in second place in the Open Production class with just one day to go. Trenker is competing in the Rally of Sardinia on behalf of KTM-UAE, the current leaders of the FIM World Championship in the bike category. It is the first time the Emirates has been represented in the Open Production class in Sardinia.
