Gulf Cup: UAE arrive in Manama after warm-ups

Mahdi Ali's men leave Doha after fruitful preparations ahead of regional competition.

The UAE team landed in Manama today, two days before the start of their Gulf Cup campaign in Bahrain.

The squad arrived from Doha, where they have been at a training camp since December 21, and had their first practice session tonight at the Al Ahli Stadium.

During their two-week stay in Qatar, the UAE played two friendly matches, both against Yemen, winning the first 2-0 and the second 3-1. The Whites face Qatar in their opening match tomorrow, kick-off 10.15pm, and then meet Bahrain on January 8.

Three days later, Mahdi Ali's team will complete their group engagements against Oman.
