Alessandro Del Piero inspired Juventus to a 2-0 victory over Roma lifting them to fifth and leaving their opponents struggling just above the bottom three in Serie A. The Italy striker scored a stunning free-kick in the 38th minute before setting up a second goal for Marco Marchionni three minutes into the second half. That was enough to make it four wins in a row for Claudio Ranieri's side, leaving Roma reeling on the back of five successive defeats and their coach Luciano Spalletti fearing for his job.
Del Piero was back in the Juve side after being rested for the midweek win over Bologna. while Roma arrived in Turin without their captain Francesco Totti, whose knee is still causing him problems Iv an Cordoba's late winner sent Inter Milan back to the top of the table after basement side Reggina had threatened a shock comeback at the Stadio Oreste Granillo. The visitors had established a two-goal lead with first-half strikes from Sisenado Maicon and Patrick Vieira.
But Reggina hit back with strikes from Francesco Cozza and Franco Brienza either side of half-time to heighten the prospect of an upset. Cordoba, however, scored in stoppage timeto make it 2-3 and spare Inter's blushes. The coach Jose Mourinho had still not forgiven Brazilian striker Adriano for ill-discipline that saw him dropped for Wednesday's goalless draw at Fiorentina. But Ricardo Quaresma did return for Inter and Vieira was handed a start in tmidfield.
