Cebu Pacific has launched an Eid flight sale with seat prices from Dubai to Manila starting at Dh79.

While travel is currently restricted around the world, anyone planning a future trip to the Philippines can take advantage of the offer, which applies to flights departing between Sunday, November 1 and Wednesday, March 31.

The offer runs until Friday.

Base sale fares for seats start from Dh79. Taking into account all taxes, fees and service charges, the cheapest return flights The National could find were Dh399, with hand baggage only. That’s still a bargain for the nine-hour flight between Dubai and the Philippines capital.

Currently, entry to the Philippines is restricted to nationals and long-term visa holders only, so the Eid flight sale is probably most useful for Filipino citizens and residents living in the UAE. But these rules are likely to change in the future as the country reopens to tourism.

Travellers who are worried about having to make changes to travel plans can pay a bit more to be able to rebook promotional fares for free.

The Go Flexi fare allows passengers to change their ticket twice without incurring fees. It costs from an additional Dh178 each way, and also allows travellers to take two pieces of checked luggage.

New safety measures on Cebu Pacific flights

Travellers can expect contactless self-check-in and no-contact boarding policies on Cebu Pacfic flights.

Travellers can expect to find a number of safety measures implemented during the duration of their journey.

This includes contactless self-check-in and no-touch boarding policies, as well as mandatory face masks and vacant middle seats whenever flight loads allow.

Travel restrictions

Valid health insurance is needed when flying into Dubai. Currently, all travellers flying to the UAE from the Philippines must also present a valid negative Covid-19 PCR test result certificate issued by a local government-approved laboratory. Passengers travelling to the Emirates from countries without a UAE-affiliated Covid-19 testing centre can instead be tested at locally approved clinics.

Travellers flying to the Philippines will be tested for Covid-19 on arrival, and must undergo quarantine at their own expense while waiting for the results.
