With the world awash with the news that Prince Harry is set to marry his girlfriend, actress Meghan Markle, one thing is certain, from here on out, her every wardrobe choice is going to be pored over.
Thankfully, there are a few things that set Markle apart from the more traditional royal bride. Firstly, she is older than her betrothed and famous in her own right. Secondly, she is American and, in a real sign of the times, she is not only divorced, but mixed race, too.
Hopefully, this all adds up to giving the new royal-to-be the freedom to do things a little differently than they have been done before (including making more daring fashion choices than her sister-in-law to be).
Markle stepped out for the announcement of her engagement wearing a chic white coat by Canadian company Line (prompting the brand's website to immediately crash). Under that she donned a green dress by Italian brand P.A.R.O.S.H, known for vintage-inspired pieces, teamed with nude heels by another Italian brand, Aquazzura.
The finishing touch, of course, was the diamond engagement ring designed by the Prince himself, featuring a gemstone from Botswana, alongside two diamonds from the collection of his mother, Princess Diana.
