4. Tangerine dream

For a truly grand statement, the Herald armchair, one of the signature pieces from Versace Home's spring/summer collection, is hard to beat. It's available in a range of finishes, including mirrored leather, high-gloss coated technical fabric and silk jacquard, velvet and silk satin. It also comes in a shade of deep cobalt blue but this lush tangerine hue is something else. Dh30,000, Versace Home, Dubai Mall, 04 330 8697, www.versacehome.com

6. Bowled over

The Rosti Mepal Synthesis Bowl and matching mugs come in a range of vibrant tones, including java green, eos orange and eos blue. The only problem is choosing between them, so why not go for a full set? The products are all made from melamine, one of the hardest, most scratch resistant plastics on the market, so they're also guaranteed to last.
