Three months after closing its Jumeirah Emirates Towers operations, Hakkasan Dubai will reopen its doors at Atlantis the Palm, on October 23.
The award-winning Cantonese restaurant joins the already strong culinary line-up in The Avenues, which is home to Gordon Ramsay’s lively Bread Street Kitchen & Bar; Ronda Locatelli by celebrated Italian chef Giorgio Locatelli; and Nobu by Chef Nobu Matsuhisa. In fact, the new restaurant is located front and centre at The Avenues entrance.
The menu will feature signature dishes, most notably the Peking duck served with royal beluga caviar, grilled Chilean sea bass cooked in honey, and stir-fried black pepper rib-eye beef.
Three fragrant dishes that are exclusive to this venue are: crispy roasted chicken with garlic and sesame, osmanthus Wagyu beef rib eye, and wok-fry Australian rack lamb with black garlic.
The eatery will also host a Taste of Hakkasan set menu (from Dh318) served daily from 6pm to 7.30pm. Dishes on the set menu include: dim sum platter, roasted truffle duck with mushroom tea tree and a chef-picked dessert selection. Its Friday brunch (Dh328) is set to launch later this year. The restaurant itself is open for dinner from 6pm to 11.30pm, while the bar is open from 5pm to 1am.
The interior is in keeping with the chain's London flagship, and features an intimate restaurant and vibrant bar, segregated by intricately carved wooden screens and latticing.
However, this new location, too, is not Hakksan Dubai's permanent home: at the end of 2019, the restaurant will move to The Royal Atlantis Resort and Residences, where famed chef Heston Blumenthal is also opening a branch of his restaurant, Dinner by Heston Blumenthal. The restaurant has a branch in Abu Dhabi, at Emirates Palace.
