If you head over to the Evening Garden lawn area of Umm Al Emarat Park in Abu Dhabi before April 2019 you'll find the "world's largest mobile maze", a new temporary attraction called The Wonder Maze.

The mega-attraction, which is open to the public daily from 9am to 11pm, covers almost 3,000 square metres. Production of the maze took a whopping 30,000 man hours, while installation took another 1,500.

To keep it interesting, as The Wonder Maze has been designed in modules, the configuration of the paths can be changed regularly, chopping and changing the many twists, turns and dead ends you'll come across.

At the centre, there is a five-metre-high viewing platform, as well as a direct "quick exit" out of the maze, so you don't have to figure out the way back.

On average, it takes visitors between 30 and 40 minutes to make their way through the maze. Entrance costs Dh35 (on top of the additional Dh5 to enter the park), except for children smaller than 100  centimetres – then it's free.

"We are confident that this spectacular maze will appeal to every age group," says Lee Holmes, manager of The Wonder Maze Amusement LLC, the company behind the attraction. "Anyone with an inquisitive mind and who wants to discover what's around the next corner will love it."

The maze isn't the only attraction bringing visitors to Umm Al Emarat Park this weekend, as World of Food Abu Dhabi, part of the Abu Dhabi Food Festival, kicks off today (December 13) and runs until Monday, December 17.

The five-day foodie event is host to 15 main dining stations, where a number of well known chefs will showcase their skills during live-cooking demonstrations. This includes President of Worldchefs Thomas Gugler, Jordanian TV chef Manal Alalem, Indian chef Vineet Bhatia, French chef Claude Taffarello and German chef Julia Komp.

Visitors can sample foods from cuisines spanning the globe, as well as try their hand at cake-decorating; ice-, fruit- and vegetable-carving; sushi-rolling; and gingerbread house-decorating.

Chief executive and organiser of World of Food Abu Dhabi, Joanne Cook, commented: "We have prepared an exciting lineup of culinary Master Chefs from around the globe, who will showcase their skillset, in addition to an array of food-inspired, interactive activities for the entire family to enjoy."

World of Food Abu Dhabi runs from Thursday December 13-Monday December 17, 6pm-midnight on weekdays and 2pm-midnight on weekends.
