Jim Carrey will reprise his role in a Dumb and Dumber sequel.

Aamir Khan, Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the stars of 3 Idiots, are getting back together after the roaring box office and critical success of their 2009 film.

The film is tipped to be titled as either PK or Peekay.

Hirani confirmed that the script is complete and that Khan has signed up for the role. Like Hirani's recent films, this one will be light-hearted and comedic but with a social message.

Since Khan will be busy shooting for Dhoom 3 over the summer, production for PK/Peekay will begin only on the last quarter of the year.

Khan will be seen next in the psychological thriller Tallash, directed by Reema Kagti.

Ashton Kutcher to play Steve Jobs

Ashton Kutcher has signed on to play Steve Jobs in an independent biopic produced by Five Star Institute. Titled Jobs, the film will begin shooting next month, when Kutcher's Two and a Half Men hiatus begins, reported Variety.

Meanwhile, Sony is planning a separate Jobs biopic, based on Walter Isaacson's authorised biography.

Seacrest and Palin on the Today show

The Today show's executive producer Jim Bell tweeted on Sunday evening that a "big NBC announcement" concerning Ryan Seacrest will come today.

"Tuesday morning live on the Today show … Would @RyanSeacrest have fun doing the weather for Al Roker?" Bell quipped.

The Wall Street Journal earlier reported rumours that Seacrest will be replacing the Today co-host Matt Lauer, while The Hollywood Reporter claimed Seacrest's deal will only be limited to occasional Today appearances as well as involvement in NBC's Olympics coverage.

Besides the announcement, Tuesday's edition will also include a guest co-host stint from Sarah Palin, NBC announced on its website. It says the former Alaska governor will "reveal a different side" than viewers have seen before.

H&M to open a new luxury chain

The retail giant H&M announced it is planning to take on the high-end market by launching a luxury brand. The Swedish clothing company confirmed last week that a new store chain will be opened next year.

"We are making these long-term investments ... so that we can give our customers an even broader offering," said H&M's chief executive Karl-Joha Persson. "We have great faith in this new brand."

The announcement follows H&M's designer team-ups with the likes of Versace and Marni.

H&M is keeping tight-lipped on further details, such as the new brand's name.

Patti Smith new album out June

Patti Smith revealed to Rolling Stone that her new album Banga will be out on June 5. It is her 11th studio album and first original compilation since 2004. The first single, April Fool, was released on Sunday.

"There is an exploratory spirit in the songs that make up Banga, including a rock song for the people of Japan after last year's earthquake (Fuji-san), a classic ballad in memory of Amy Winehouse (This Is the Girl), as well as a birthday song for Johnny Depp (Nine)," Smith said in a statement.

Director confirms Dumb and Dumber 2

In June last year, Jim Carrey revealed he was in discussions with the filmmaking duo Bobby and Peter Farrelly to develop a sequel to their 1994 hit Dumb and Dumber. On Sunday, Peter Farrelly confirmed to ComingSoon.net that the project is indeed pushing through.

"We're getting set to shoot Dumb and Dumber 2 in September. It's the first sequel we've ever done and we've got Jim and Jeff Daniels back," Farrelly said at a junket for his new film Three Stooges. "Jeff always wanted to do it. We always wanted to do it. Jim was busy, but he called and said: 'We've got to do this thing again'." An unsanctioned sequel, Dumb and Dumberer, with a different director, Troy Miller, was released in 2003.

Bollywood and Hollywood honour worst

Imran Khan was named the worst actor and Deepika Padukone the worst actress at the fourth annual Golden Kela Awards, a spin-off of Hollywood's Razzies, which recognises the worst in cinema. Khan won for Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, while Padukone was awarded for her performance in Aarakshan.

The sci-fi superhero movie Ra.One, starring Shah Rukh Khan, won worst film and worst director for Anubhav Sinha.

In Hollywood, Adam Sandler and his cross-dressing comedy Jack and Jill set a Razzies record on Sunday by sweeping 10 Golden Raspberry awards. It is the first time in its 32-year history that the Golden Raspberry Award Foundation dishonoured the same film in every category.
