Wasla to return in 2019 with Mashrou' Leila, Massar Egbari, 47Soul and Ayloul
Dubai will host Wasla in March, celebrating the region's Arabic alternative music scene
Dubai’s festival dedicated to Arabic alternative artists will return on March 1 next year, bringing with it performances by popular musicians and bands from the region, alongside six Emirates-based acts.
Wasla teamed up with Live Nation to host this year's performances at Burj Park, Dubai. Tickets will be available at www.ticketmaster.ae from January and will cost Dh145 (early bird) or Dh195 (regular price).
Headliners in 2019 will include Lebanese indie quintet Mashrou’ Leila, who are gracing the Wasla stage for the second time in three years and giving festivalgoers an exclusive first taste of material from their forthcoming album.
Also on stage and releasing a new album are Egyptian rock outfit Massar Egbari. The multi-award-winning four-piece will be performing new tunes and fan favourites.
Jordanian indie band Ayloul will also share their brand of Arab-rooted Oriental music blended with rock.
More regional and local underground acts will be revealed soon.
