Reporting from Amsterdam, we spoke to the American DJ, singer and rapper Stefan Kendal Gordy — better known as Redfoo of the musical duo LMFAO — about hosting tonight’s MTV Europe Music Awards.

Before we begin chatting, I have to say, that’s a nice looking outfit — kind of like Tarzan meets Studio 54.

I do feel like I come from the jungle in outer-space. I just love my animal print, getting freaky with it and just have fun. Also, the real reason why I took it out is because I have sexy legs.

Right then. Your hosting role in the MTV EMAs tonight is described as an “intergalactic MC”. What does that mean exactly?

It means that I will be giving a galactic energy. Everything that I will do tonight will be out of this world with extra universal planetary gravity.

Let’s get down to earth for a bit. We are here in Amsterdam. How do you feel about the city playing host to tonight’s event?

I love it, man. The people are incredible here because everyone rides bikes and they are all fit. I remember I saw women riding bikes with three baby-seats on it and I am like, man, these people are serious here. The shopping here is great as well and I have been hanging out with (Dutch DJ) Afro Jack and we are checking out the sites.

There are a lot of big performances tonight. Anyone you are really looking forward to see?

I love Icona Pop, they are great and I am looking forward to seeing them. I also love Katy Perry.

And of course there is Miley Cyrus.

Of course! I just want to see what she is going to do. The other day I had a chance to see her in rehearsal and I refused. I didn’t want to even see it even though I could be announcing her. I want to be just as shocked as everyone else because I am a fan and I want to step back and say, “This is like, whoa!”

Then again, you got to be careful. You are a big name too and you don’t want to be totally upstaged.

Don’t worry, I will have a mic and I also got a secret wiggle. Also I think I have the most segments so I get more camera time. Honestly, it’s all about the energy on that stage and I plan to support everyone on the night. Hopefully I will be funny, too.

Finally, let’s talk about LMFAO. Where do you guys stand now? Have you guys officially split up?

Well we are both doing solo stuff. I got the Redfoo album coming soon and we are just doing our own thing. LMFAO lives forever regardless because we got the videos on the YouTube, and Sky Blu is my nephew, so we are all family. We are just following our dreams. He is doing his stuff and I am doing my stuff and that’s me being here hosting the MTV EMAs baby.
