Abu Dhabi police arrest man for allegedly cross-dressing

A man was yesterday charged with imitating a female after being arrested at a mall while dressed in women's clothes and holding a handbag.

MA, a Filipino, was shopping for a mobile phone when he was detained for causing a disturbance, prosecutors told Abu Dhabi Criminal Court.

Store workers were making fun of him when one took offence and called the police.

When officers arrived, the Filipino denied being dressed as a woman.

Police then searched his bag and found make-up.

The case was adjourned to December 26.
