Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law has been taken to hospital after opening an envelope containing white powder.
Vanessa Trump, married to Donald Trump Jr., opened the letter which was addressed to her husband at their Manhattan apartment.
Police say she was coughing and felt nauseous after opening the envelope. It is not thought that she is seriously harmed.
She and two other people were decontaminated by firefighters and taken to hospital, the Weill Cornell Medical Center, for evaluation.
The New York Police Department and the Secret Service are investigating.
The couple's East 54th Street apartment was now being decontaminated.
In September, Mr Trump Jr, Mr Trump's eldest son, chose to forgo Secret Service protection for himself, his wife and his five children. However, the protection was reactivated one week later.
