The US has strongly condemned Monday night's attack on Saudi Arabia's Abha Airport by Iranian-backed Houthi rebels.
The Saudi-led coalition, which is fighting in support of the internationally recognised government of Yemen, said nine civilians were wounded in the drone attack, the third at the airport in less than three weeks.
"These attacks are risking the lives of many and injuring innocent civilians," the US State Department said.
"We call for an immediate end to these violent actions, which only exacerbate the conflict in Yemen and deepen mistrust."
A statement carried by the official Saudi Press Agency called the incident a "terrorist attack".
The Houthis claimed responsibility for the attack on their Al Masirah TV.
The US said it stood with its ally Saudi Arabia against the Houthis, "who rely on Iranian-made weapons and technology to carry out such attacks".
The State Department urged all parties to work with UN special envoy Martin Griffiths towards a political settlement and an end to the conflict in Yemen.
Mr Griffiths visited the UAE this week to try to revive the stumbling peace process. He said he was "greatly encouraged by the UAE’s commitment and support" to ending the conflict.
On June 12, a rebel missile attack on the airport wounded 26 people, and on June 24 a man was killed by a Houthi strike.
