Saudi Arabia’s King Salman issued royal decrees on Friday including the creation of a new Ministry for Industry and Mineral Resources.

Bandar Al-Khorayef will lead the new branch of government, while Fahd bin Mohammed Al-Essa is appointed as chief of the Royal Court, Bandar bin Mohammed Al-Aiban as an adviser to the Royal Court, and Awwad bin Saleh Al-Awwad the new head of the Saudi Human Rights Commission.

A royal decree was also issued to amend the name of the General Auditing Bureau to the General Bureau for Auditing.

King Salman ordered the establishment of a new national centre for artificial intelligence and an organisation called the National Data Management Office, which will be linked to the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority.
