Saleh's immunity draft law vote postponed

Yemen's parliament postponed a vote on a draft law that would grant President Ali Abdullah Saleh and his aides immunity to prosecution for crimes that occurred during the country's uprising.

SANAA // Yemen's parliament postponed a vote on a draft law that would grant President Ali Abdullah Saleh and his aides immunity to prosecution for crimes that occurred during the country's uprising.

The vote was delayed because not enough members of parliament attended the session. The vote is scheduled to be taken up again on Saturday.

The law, which covers all the people who worked with Mr Saleh during the past 33 years, is a part of the Gulf-brokered deal that Mr Saleh signed in November, transferring power to his deputy.
