Unemployment figures in the United States unexpectedly dipped for May, as employers added 2.5 million jobs in May.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia's interior ministry announced a new 15-day lockdown in the city of Jeddah which will come into effect on Saturday. The new measures will include a temporarily ban on employees attending workplaces for both the private and public sector.
Earlier, India's health ministry reported a record surge in daily coronavirus cases in Friday - more than 9,800 in the past 24 hours.
More than 6.6 million cases of coronavirus have been recorded worldwide, mostly in Europe and the US, though global recoveries approaches 2.9 million.
