British police have arrested two people on suspicion of Syria-related terrorism.
A man, 32, and a woman, 31, were arrested in the south-east coastal town of Dover, accused of preparing to commit terrorism offences. The man was also held on suspicion of supporting terrorism.
Police said the arrests were not linked to the London Bridge terror attack on November 29 but did not give further details. It said the arrests were a result of an intelligence-led operation that was under way before the attacks.
There has been a continuing police crackdown on former terrorist prisoners after the London Bridge attacks.
Usman Khan, the knifeman who killed two people before he was shot dead by police, was released last year, half-way through a 16-year jail term for plotting to blow up the London Stock Exchange.
Two people have already been returned to prison to serve their full terms after breaching conditions under which they were allowed out of jail.
The government said 74 prisoners who served terms for terrorism were freed early.
