Greek PM leaves hospital after eye surgery

Antonis Samaras has been released from hospital after undergoing major eye surgery, state television NET reported.

ATHENS // Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras was released from hospital yesterday after undergoing major eye surgery, state television NET reported, causing him to miss a EU summit this week.

Samaras, 61, a former foreign minister who was sworn in last week after his party won a critical election on June 17, has been told to stay at home for at least a week to recover from an operation to remedy a detached retina.
