ABU Dhabi // The Zayed Giving Initiative has set up a clinic in Mauritania to provide diagnostic and curative services.

Dr Adel Al Shamri, chief executive of the initiative, said the opening coincided with International Day of Charity, reported state news agency Wam.

He said the initiative had stepped up its humanitarian work in Africa in partnership with the Saudi-German Hospital, Dar Al Ber, the UAE Voluntary Centre and the Arab Humanitarian Action Organisation.

The medical facility will be overseen by volunteer doctors from the UAE and Mauritania.
