Zayed documentary on TV

A three-minute documentary on Sheikh Zayed will be broadcast on Abu Dhabi TV to commemorate six years since his passing.

ABU DHABI // A three-minute documentary on Sheikh Zayed will be broadcast tonight on Abu Dhabi TV to commemorate six years since his passing.

Produced by Zayed University students in cooperation with Abu Dhabi TV, the documentary will highlight milestones in the life of the country's founding father.

The students wrote, produced and edited the film and Abu Dhabi TV provided technical assistance. It includes photos of the leader at home and abroad, and describes the impact of his leadership on the hearts and minds of people in the UAE.

"This initiative by our students is a unique opportunity to introduce younger generations to the historical accomplishments of the founding father of our nation, which weren't confined to the UAE, but went beyond our borders to influence the world," Dr Sulaiman al Jassim, vice president of Zayed University, said yesterday.

The broadcast is part of an initiative by the Abu Dhabi Media Company, which also owns The National, to support student projects.

The documentary is part of a special that begins at 7.30pm.
