The UAE's Minister of State for Happiness has thanked the country's hard-working and dedicated volunteers on the occasion of International Volunteer Day.
Ohood Al Roumi sent a message to those that give their time to help others and support good causes.
"Today we celebrate International Volunteer Day in recognition of volunteering as a core value of societies," she wrote on Twitter.
"Thank you to all volunteers in the UAE and around the world for selflessly giving your time, energy and love to build happier communities and make our world a better place."
The UAE is coming to the end of the Year of Giving, which has seen the government, public authorities and private businesses give funds, their time and material goods to causes at home and abroad.
