XPark Jr: Dubai's new adventure park to encourage children out into the great outdoors
Latest XDubai attraction in Kite Beach aimed at families and has a keen eye on nature
Children can now enjoy a new natural play-park in Dubai that has been billed by its creators as the first of its kind in the UAE – mixing the desert environment with modern facilities in a forest-like setting.
The XDubai community space is tapping into the success of the nearby Kite Beach Skatepark, that has been a runaway success for skaters of all ages since opening in 2016.
Families can now enjoy XPark Jr, with trees and gardens, streams, waterfalls and fountains – as well as tree houses, wooded bridges and climbing nets.
It has been built next to the skate park in Jumeirah, and includes a petting zoo, sand play area and mud kitchen.
The park’s design allows children to take healthy risks, independently build confidence, create adventures and connect with one another as they discover the joy of nature, right in the heart of Dubai.
An Urban Forest School Programme aims to connect school and nursery children with nature through structured group visits to XPark Jr and activities that include free play, den building, arts and crafts and campfire building.
“Since our launch, XDubai has captured the imagination of audiences near and far with activities and activations that defy the limit of what is possible,” said Mohammed Javad, general manager of XDubai.
“While some of those activities are limited to professionals, we have invited the public to come along on our journey through attractions like the XLine and community spaces such as the XDubai Kite Beach Skatepark.
“Throughout all our work, we have learnt that the spirit of adventure that XDubai is known for is often ignited early in childhood, an insight that has led to the opening of XPark Jr.”
