ABU DHABI // Yours for US$55 million (Dh202m), the world’s most valuable necklace – as certified by Guinness World Records – has gone on display at a UAE boutique.

Coming in at 637 carats with a total of 91 diamonds – a mix of one yellow and 90 white precious stones – and complete with rose gold, the necklace, L’Incomparable Diamond Necklace, will be on show at the Mouawad boutique, at The Dubai Mall, until April 6.

The piece of jewellery is the latest record-breaking offering from the company.

“This is the fourth time that Mouawad has received a certificate from the authority of Guinness World Records and it’s another of those remarkable moments in history for our family”, said Pascal Mouawad, guardian of the Mouawad Retail Division, shortly after the latest record was confirmed.

The deep-yellow diamond, the Incomparable Diamond, which is described on Mouawad’s website as being “the world’s largest, internally flawless coloured diamond,” was discovered in the Democratic Republic of Congo in 1980 by a young girl.

“Befitting of a royal court, L’Incomparable Diamond Necklace leaves nothing to be desired except to grace the neck of a Queen or a very special woman that absolutely deserves nothing less,” said Fred Mouawad, guardian of the Mouawad Diamond Division.

The necklace is being displayed in Dubai as part of a GCC-wide tour of Mouawad’s boutiques and was first showcased in February at the Doha Jewellery and Watch Exhibition.
