Wooden powerboat race awards winners in Dubai
The duo Juma Al Muhairi and Ahmed Al Hamli in Al Tber 1 secured the top spot against rival boat number 17 'Raheeb 4'
Al Tber 1 was crowned champion of the Dubai Wooden Powerboat Race – the Third Round of the UAE Championship.
The event was held on Saturday at the Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC) under the marine sport season 2017-2018 with the participation of 17 elite boats.
The duo Juma Al Muhairi and Ahmed Al Hamli in Al Tber 1 secured the top spot against rival boat number 17 'Raheeb 4'.
In third spot was 'Al Noubi Racing' boat number 6 ahead of boat number 3 'Sea Shuttle and battling for the last spot was boat number 12 'Al Taber 2'.
The participants competed in a track of 31 nautical miles in Al Sufouh Beach between the Crescent of Palm Jumeirah and the iconic Burj Al Arab.
Following the race, the awarding ceremony was held at the DIMC podium in the presence of Ali Belhabala, DIMC vice chairman, Mohammad Harib, chief executive and board member of DIMC, Mohammed Al Shamsi, director of administrative corporate support at DIMC and Lt. Col Ali Naqbi, head of maritime rescue at Dubai Police.
