ABU DHABI // A woman seeking Dh1 million compensation over breast enlargement surgery she claimed was botched has had her claim rejected by the Appeals Court.
The court overturned a ruling by a lower court entitling the woman to Dh10,000, deciding that even if the clinic had been negligent in some respects, no physical damage had been done.
The lower court found that the substance the woman was injected with was not registered by the Ministry of Health and that a ban prevented it from being used on women with a family history of cancer. The woman, who had such a family history, claimed she had been left emotionally and psychologically damaged from the operation, saying she suffered constant panic about catching cancer.
