DUBAI // A 50-year-old woman who was deported in a sex-related case has admitted paying to be smuggled back into the UAE to work as a prostitute.
The Chinese woman, JF, was deported in 2011 but last year she paid a Chinese woman and a Omani man Dh15,000 to help her cross the border from Oman illegally.
After arriving back in Dubai, she started working as a prostitute.
Police received a tip-off about the woman and she was arrested in March.
The woman confessed to a charge of working in prostitution when she appeared at Dubai Criminal Court on Wednesday morning.
A verdict is expected on May 14.
