The victim of a chemical attack died on Tuesday twelve days after her husband allegedly poured a liquid on her and her lover.

According to Sharjah Police sources, the 23-year-old Sri Lankan woman was attacked after her 30-year-old husband caught her and her lover in their marital bed.

It is believed the Sri Lankan man had to leave for his home country for a family emergency but returned a week later, after he saw a picture of his wife with another man on Facebook.

His wife called emergency services and ambulances took the two to Al Kuwaiti hospital with severe burns and were admitted to the intensive care unit.

Days later the couple were referred to Al Qasimi Hospital after their conditions deteriorated.
