Winds, rough seas expected over next three days
ABU DHABI // Forecasters have warned of rough seas today and over the next three days due to northwesterly winds blowing across the country and over the sea.
Winds of up to 30kph are expected tomorrow and up to 25kph on Friday during the day, increasing at night, according to the duty forecaster at the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology.
The sea will be rough to moderate tomorrow, while on Friday it will be moderate during the day and rough at night. Winds will create waves of up to 1.8m offshore tomorrow, and up to 1.5m offshore on Friday morning, rising to 1.8m in the afternoon.
On Saturday morning, the sea will be severely rough, following winds of up to 70kph offshore overnight. Waves of up to 3.5m are likely.
Fishermen and sailors have been urged to be cautious and warned to stay on shore.
The temperature is expected to drop by around 4C to 5 C on Saturday.
The humidity will increase over the interior and coastal areas during the night and early morning tomorrow and on Friday, with fog likely early on Friday morning.
