DUBAI // The wife and daughter of a Dubai businessman were killed in the Nairobi mall terrorist attack in Kenya.

Jennah Bawa, 8, and her mother, Zahira, were identified from photos of the victims.

Louis Bawa, chief executive of Inobrands, a company that specialises in mobile-phone and tablet accessories, said his “heart just stopped” when he saw the photos.

“The people who did this, they are vigilantes, they are animals,” said Mr Bawa, who is still in Kenya.

At least 62 people died, many were wounded and dozens were taken hostage when Al Shabab Islamist militants from Somalia stormed the Westgate mall on Saturday with automatic weapons and grenades.

After a four-day siege the Kenyan president Uhuru Kenyatta said on Tuesday night the incident was over and “we have ashamed and defeated our attackers”.
