Official red wristbands say Meet the Determined

Official wristbands in support of the Special Olympics World Games, which are taking place in Abu Dhabi later this year, have gone on sale at Adnoc petrol stations.

A video was shared on the official Twitter page, for the games, that showed the red wristbands that were exclusively available at the garages for Dh10 each.

The video also urged people to “come and support the athletes in 24 sports this March 2019”.

The red wristbands come with the slogan 'Meet the Determined'.

Dozens of world leaders, sports stars and celebrities have been showing their support for the Games by donning the wristband on social media.

The Special Olympics World Games takes place in Abu Dhabi from March 14-21, marking the first time that the global games have taken place in the Middle East and North Africa region.

It is expected that about 7,500 athletes will take part in the event, along with 20,000 volunteers in 11 different venues in the UAE.

These include Zayed Sports City, the National Exhibition Centre, Yas Marina Circuit and the Abu Dhabi Yacht and Sailing Club.
