Western Region residents live longer than those in rest of Abu Dhabi

Women in the capital live longer than men, a report reveals, while Al Gharbia residents live longer than those in the city.

ABU DHABI // Women in the capital live longer than men, a report reveals, while Al Gharbia residents live longer than those in the city.

The Statistics Centre Abu Dhabi found life expectancy in the capital was 77.1 years for men and 78.2 years for women.

The study also found that the average life expectancy for citizens of the emirate was 76.5 years.

People in Al Gharbia lived the longest - 79.5 years on average - compared with 77.9 in Al Ain and 77.5 in the capital.

In Al Ain, men live to an average age of 77.8, with women averaging 79.2 years.
