DUBAI // A watchman sexually assaulted a girl, 10, while she was playing hide and seek, a court heard on Sunday.
The watchman denies the charges.
The Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance heard that MS, 32, from India, took advantage of NR after she hid under the building's reception desk.
MS was said to have pulled NR on to his lap and touched her inappropriately.
A friend of NR told the court they had been playing, and she saw her trying to resist MS and asking to go home. The friend told her mother, who called police.
The policeman YA testified that he had been called to a residential building in Al Mankhool where MS denied the allegations.
"He said he only held the girl's hand leading her to the lift and asked her to return to her apartment," YA said.
A verdict is expected on March 7.
