Reckless motorists failing to keep safe distances on the road face a close call with death - say police in Abu Dhabi who have released shocking new footage highlighting the risks of danger driving.
Abu Dhabi Police have released a thought-provoking video showing a multiple car pile-up - with one vehicle send flying into the air by the sheer force of its collision - caused by motorists failing to adhere to safe distances.
It is just the latest dramatic video to be released by police in the emirate - as part of their Your Comment campaign - in a bid to make motorists see sense and adhere to traffic regulations while behind the wheel.
The clips are being posted to social media platforms where they reach the largest number of people - and can make the most impact on the future behaviour of road users.
Colonel Mohammed Ali Al Muhairi, director of Abu Dhabi Police's security media department, said that the initiative has sparked strong debate among drivers.

“The majority of debates discussed causes of traffic accidents and ways to reduce the loss of life and property,” he said.
Col Al Muhairi said many people took to social media to criticise the dangerous driving on show and call for tough punishments for those who flout the law.
A survey carried out by Abu Dhabi Police about the Your Comment initiative showed that more than 80 per cent of respondents supported posting such videos and considered it as an important deterrent to danger drivers putting lives at risk.
Col Al Muhairi called on drivers to maintain adequate safety distance for the well-being of themselves and other road users.
