Value added tax has now been in our lives for a week in the Emirates, and it is taking some getting used to.

Whether it is knowing when the extra 5 per cent should be charged and when it shouldn't, or making sure your bill is correct, both consumers and companies are having to embrace a new era when it comes to their finances.
