DUBAI // An unemployed man denied trespassing into a villa and molesting one of its female tenants, a court heard.
Bangladeshi AM, 25, denied two charges of molestation and trespassing when he appeared at the Dubai Criminal Court.
Prosecutors said that on September 28 last year, the Filipina victim, AD, a waitress, returned to the villa and noticed AM hiding in the garden.
"He hugged me then started kissing my on the lips before I could scream help," said the waitress.
She noted the defendant jumped away the moment she screamed. She went to Bur Dubai Police station and reported the incident and on October 7 was contacted by officers to identify her attacker.
After she confirmed AM was the one who attacked her, he was charged and referred to court.
AA, a 38-year-old policeman, testified the defendant was arrested in a different case but matched the description given by AD so he was interrogated and he confessed.
"He said he followed the woman then sneaked into her house before attacking her," said AA.
A verdict is expected on February 16.
