Sunny skies marked the beginning of the week as temperatures in Abu Dhabi and Dubai hovered at around 30°C this morning.
Over the weekend, the mercury hit 39°C, while today it is expected to peak at 42°C.
Hazy and cloudy weather may cover eastern mountainous areas, with a possibility of rain later in the day.
Moderate winds are expected to cause blowing dust and the sea will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea.
According to the National Centre for Meteorology, coastal areas will see temperatures of between 22°C to 40°C, internal areas of 22°C to 42°C and the mountains will be 18°C to 29°C.
Tomorrow, the country is expected to receive fresh winds causing blowing dust and reducing visibility in many areas.
Hazy and cloudy weather is expected to continue into the week and there is a possibility of more rain.
