Intense summer heat shows no sign of ceasing as the UAE's forecasters predict hot temperatures across the rest of the week.

Conditions will be hot during the daytime — peaking at 46°C inland and 41°C along the coasts — but will cool in the evenings, dropping as low as 27°C inland.

The highest temperature recorded across the country on Monday was 46.6°C in Mezaira, an area neighbouring Saudi Arabia, at 2.15pm.

Skies will be partly cloudy and humidity will cause haze.

Clouds will develop over some eastern areas of the country and over the mountains by the afternoon.

Light to moderate winds may freshen temperatures at times but could also whip up dust and sand over exposed areas.

Humidity will increase overnight and into Wednesday morning with "a probability of mist formation", according to the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology.

Seas will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and Sea of Oman.
