UAE weather: Strong winds to whip up dust, choppy conditions at sea
Cloudy, hazy conditions over next few days with drop in temperature predicted
Rough weather has been forecast for the next two days with strong winds stirring dust inland and choppy conditions at sea.
Visibility would be reduced to 1,500 metres with an alert for dust storms continuing through Saturday, according to the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology.
The centre had earlier cautioned motorists to reduce speed and keep safe distance from vehicles due to high winds and dust storms.
A significant fall in temperature on Monday with continuing cloud cover was predicted.
Winds are expected to pick up in the mountains, coastal and internal areas.
The dusty conditions in open areas will reduce visibility, the centre said.
Temperatures will drop with highs of 31°C and lows of 16°C inland, 17°C to 30°C in coastal areas and between 9°C to 25°C in the mountains.
The sea will be rough in the Arabian Gulf and moderate to rough in the Oman Sea
The lowest recorded temperature on Saturday morning was 6.9°C on Jais mountain.
