Humidity is expected to drop this week, much to the relief of UAE residents bothered by sodden brows and steamed up spectacles in recent days.

Forecasts estimate humidity will hover at about 30 per cent until the weekend.

It will remain hot and hazy with breezes of 15-25km around the country.

The drier weather follows periods of very high humidity last week and at the weekend.

The National Centre of Meteorology placed temperatures as low as 37C in Dubai and Abu Dhabi on Monday falling as low as 36C on Tuesday.

Global forecaster Accuweather had slightly higher estimates at 42C. Its long range forecast predicted low humidity until the end of next week.
