Rainfall is forecast over the eastern and southern areas of the country with the possibility of a thick cloud cover on Monday.

Hazy and cloudy conditions are set to continue over the next two days with the cloud cover increasing in eastern and southern areas by afternoon, according to the National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology.

Winds will be light to moderate in general, freshening at times and causing blowing dust over exposed areas.

Temperatures will be "hot in general", with highs reaching between 36°C and 44°C in interior areas, between 34°C and 42°C along the coast, and between 30°C and 35°C in the mountains.

Humidity levels will increase at night and in the morning over the coastal areas. The maximum humidity will be between 60 to 90 per cent across coastal regions, between 45 to 75 per cent in internal areas and 35 to 55 per cent in the mountains.

The sea will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and in the Sea of Oman, the centre said.
