[ UPDATE: Thunder and rain hits Abu Dhabi ]
Rain fell across the UAE on Monday and overnight as forecasters gave a warning that more could fall at the weekend.
Photographs and footage posted on social media showed heavy downpours from Al Ain to Ras Al Khaimah.
Fujairah was particularly affected by the rain and video showed surging waters coursing across wadi beds from Al Hail to Murbah, water flowing down roads and cars pulled over as rain lashed date groves.

And there is more to come. The National Centre of Meteorology said the wet weather was set to persist into the weekend along with a "significant decrease in temperatures" on Thursday.
Friday could also experience some downpours, it said.
"[It will be] partly cloudy to cloudy at times, accompanied with some convective clouds over some areas, associated with rainfall and significant decrease in temperatures," the centre said of Thursday's forecast.
Forecasters on Sunday gave a warning about downpours, particularly in the eastern and western parts of the country.
The period of wet weather comes after a milder than usual winter with prolonged bouts of clear, sunny weather.
It contrasts with last year when heavy rains in January caused flooding across the country.
The UAE recorded only 1.2 millimetres of rain in the first three months of this year.
