Rain fell during the night in various parts of the UAE and more is expected on Thursday, accompanied by thunder.

Northern and eastern areas are likely to be most affected by these conditions, with cloud cover persisting across the country throughout the weekend.

Winds will be fresh over coastal and exposed areas, resulting in rough seas and poor visibility less than 2000m at times, according to the National Centre for Meteorology.

The centre reported light rain over scattered areas in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, Jebel Jais and Al Jazirah Al Hamra in Ras Al Khaimah, Al Barsha in Dubai and on Emirates road in Umm Al Quwain.

Moderate to fresh south-easterly to northeasterly winds will continue throughout Thursday morning, reaching 55kph over the coast and 45kph inland.

Temperatures are expected to increase reaching 31°C inland, ranging between 30°C and 13°C along the coast, and 20°C to 07°C in the mountains.

Conditions will be rough in the Arabian Gulf and in the Oman Sea.
