Fog and mist caused poor visibility in some parts of the country overnight and in the early hours of Wednesday morning, according to the National Centre for Meteorology.

From 1am until 9am, visibility was reduced in some internal areas, mainly westwards, to 1,000 metres.

The weather is expected to be fair to partly cloudy in general and hazy at times with light to moderate winds today. Temperatures are set to reach highs of 28°C internally and lows of 10°C in the mountains.

Humidity is likely to increase at night and in the early morning over some coastal and internal areas, reaching 95 per cent internally, with a probability of fog and mist formation. The sea will be moderate to slight in the Arabian Gulf and slight to moderate in Oman Sea.

Temperatures are expected to rise on Thursday with an increase in cloud over the coasts and islands and a chance of slight rain.
